The Skin Cancer Foundation defines Melanoma as "the most serious form of skin cancer. If it is recognized and treated early, it is almost always curable, but if it is not, the cancer can advance and spread to other parts of the body, where it becomes hard to treat and can be fatal."
The American Cancer Society estimates that 120,000 new cases of melanoma are diagnosed each year.

Tribute: In February, 2010 I lost my very good friend Scott Eckland to melanoma skin cancer. He was 53 years old, married, two boys. Loved God, his family, friends, boats, and good ideas. Please take skin cancer seriously - watch your sun exposure. Ron Click here to see other causes represented by the color black.
