The National Cancer Institute defines Breast Cancer as "cancer that forms in tissues of the breast, usually the ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipple) and lobules (glands that make milk). It occurs in both men and women, although male breast cancer is rare."
There are many forms of breast cancer, including (but not limited to) Inflammatory Breast Cancer, Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma, Medullary Carcinoma, and Triple Negative Breast Cancer. In 2010, over 209,000 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed (with about 1% of those diagnosed being men) and caused over 40,000 deaths in the United States.
